Read More	Stratford Courier February 22, 1912 Obituary Anderson Many were the hearts made sad Sunday afternoon when the news of Mrs. A.P. Anderson's passing was whispered about. Although her death had been daily expected, her taking away was keenly felt by the relatives and friends. A little over ten weeks ago a scratch on her finger which resulted in blood poison, affecting the entire arm. Everything possible was done for relief, and although her sufferings were severe, she bore them with the patience of a martyr, and resigning all to Him Who doeth all things well. Margaret Olson, one of the early and highly respected pioneer settlers of this community, was called to her heavenly home Sunday, Feb. 18, 1912, at the ripe old age of 77 years and 13 days. She was born in Sweden Feb. 5, 1835, and came to America in 1849, locating at Victoria, Ill. She came to Iowa in 1856 and was married to A.P. Anderson July 12, 1864. Two sons and two daughters were born to this union, one daughter passing away at a little over one year of age. In the fall of 1904, she with her husband, moved to Stratford, where she resided until her death. Her husband was called home Jan. 10, 1907. She was a faithful and devoted member of the South Marion Swedish Methodist Church since 1863, a good Christian, and her Bible was her greatest comfort. She was a kind and loving mother, a good neighbor, and she will be greatly missed by a large circle of friends. The funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon at the residence and at the South Marion Church, conducted by her pastor, Rev. H.A. Peterson. A large crowd was present to pay a last tribute to the departed one, and many beautiful floral offerings were given. The remains were laid to rest in the South Marion Cemetery. Two sons, one daughter, one brother, other relatives and a host of friends mourn her departure. Card of Thanks Words cannot express our appreciation of those friends who have shared with us the lonely vigils by the bedside of our beloved mother. No sweeter memory can live in our hearts than that of your untiring devotion to the one who has just left us. Your kind deeds and loving words of sympathy will ever be remembered.
