Read More	OBITUARY - Plain Dealer, Wabash (IN) PROMINENT RETIRED WABASH TEACHER DIES THURSDAY Miss Margaret Robertson, 87, highly respected former teacher in the Wabash city schools, died at 9:30 o'clock Thursday morning at the Peabody Memorial home, North Manchester, where she had made her home for the last decade. Miss Robertson, the last member of a prominent Wabash family of the last century, was probably the most widely known teacher of the older generations, inasmuch as she taught in the community for a period of 43 years. Death was attributed to the complications of old age. Miss Robertson had been bedfast in the hospital of the Peabody home for nearly three years, but was cheerful and interested in life until the end. She was born March 20, 1854, at Warrensburg, N.Y., the daughter of William H. Robertson and Margaret (Boggs) Robertson. The family later lived in Troy, N.Y., and came to Wabash in January 1865, when Mr. Robertson assumed superintendency of a planing mill, the predecessor of the present Yarnelle Lumber company. The Robertsons were for many years prominent in the social and business affairs of the community, and a brother with whom the decedent made her home part of the time, James I. Robertson, was cashier and later president of the old Wabash National Bank. Miss Robertson had the distinction of being one of the two members of the first class graduated from Wabash High school in 1872 (the other was the late Mrs. Charles Baer). Miss Robertson started teaching here that same fall and continued at the profession until 1915, when she retired. Many years of that service were performed as teacher of the first grade the Miami building, where hundreds of Wabash pupils came to know and respect her. The decedent was a woman of high literary tastes, and for years took an active interest in the Round Table club, the community's oldest literary group. She maintained her affiliation with the club as an associate member until the last. Miss Robertson also was a devoted member of the First Presbyterian church here. Four brothers and a sister preceded her in death. Survivors include a niece, Mrs. Robert Little of Cedar Rapids, Ia.; a nephew, Fred I. Robinson, Cleveland, and a number of distant relatives in Tonawanda, N.Y. and New York City. The body was taken to the Bender Funeral home at North Manchester. Services will be held in the Peabody chapel at 2 o'clock Saturday afternoon with Dr. Hugh Ronald, superintendent of the home, officiating. Graveside services will be held in Falls cemetery here at 3 o'clock for Wabash friends.
