Description	:	About 5:30 o'clock Monday afternoon another alarm of fire was sounded and the fire department was directed to go to the home of William Taylor in the southeast part of town. On arriving at the house it was learned that the fire had been extinguished, but the Margaret Korbe, a mute, about 30 years of age, who had been employed to assist in cleaning house, had been almost burned to death by her clothes catching fire from a gasoline stove. On arriving at the house it was learned that the fire had been extinguished, but the Margaret Korbe, a mute, about 30 years of age, who had been employed to assist in cleaning house, had been almost burned to death by her clothes catching fire from a gasoline stove. As Miss Korbe cannot talk it is almost impossible to get the full particulars of the sad affair. It seems the gasoline stove was lighted and some water being heated. It is thought the Korbe woman was also cleaning carpet in the room with a basin of gasoline. The room soon filled with the gas which was ignited by the fire at the stove, setting fire to the woman's clothing. Mrs. Taylor, who was in another part of the house, heard the screams of the woman and at once ran to her assistance. Neighbors also came rushing to the assistance of the unfortunate woman, but not until her clothes from her waist down had been almost burned from her body. She presented a pitiable sight. Dr. Snyder was on hand soon after the accident and did all in his power to alleviate the sufferings of the unfortunate woman. At the time of this writing she is resting easy, but in a critical condition. Very little, if any, damage was done to the house.
