Description	:	Margie "Mickey" Clarey, 80, of Akron, Iowa passed away Saturday, March 24, 2012 surrounded by her family at her home in Akron. Mass of Christian Burial was held on Friday, March 30, 2012 at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Akron. Reverend Roger Linnan and Deacon Richard Port officiated. Burial followed in St. Patrick's Catholic Cemetery in Akron. Casket Bearers: Brian Adams, Jim Harvey, Beth Flansburg, Kasey Mitchell, Stan Rolfes, Craig Waterbury, and Travis Walker. Read More	Margie "Mickey" Clarey, 80, of Akron, Iowa passed away Saturday, March 24, 2012 surrounded by her family at her home in Akron. Margie Delores Clarey was born May 20, 1931 on the family farm near Marcus, Iowa, the daughter of Orlando and Lillian (Bedard) Harvey. As a young child, she moved with her family to Akron where she attended school. She was united in marriage to Thomas E. Clarey on June 17, 1948 in Akron. In 1953, they moved to California and Mickey stayed home to take care of her children and took in ironing to supplement their income. In 1975, they moved back to Akron. Mickey went to work for the Akron Care Center as a housekeeper. In 1993, she retired after 17 years of service to take care of her husband. Tom passed away December 29, 1999. Mickey was a longtime member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Akron. She also volunteered for many years at the Akron Senior Center and was the Vice President of the Senior Center Board for the past year. When she and Tom were living in California, she was a Girl Scout Leader and on the Los Angles Girl Scout Counsel for Gardena, California for 15 years. She was also an active member of St. Albert the Great Catholic Church. Through the years, Margie enjoyed crocheting and sewing. But most of all, she loved the time spent with her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She looked forward to Friday evening dinners with her family. She will be greatly missed. Survivors include her 9 children: Marsha Clarey of Akron and her son, Brian Adams and his children, Kaitlyn and Zach Adams; Mary Clarey of Beresford, SD and her children, Melissa Ste. Marie (Todd) and their children, Jessica, Julia, Dylan, and Leah, Becky Mead (Troy) and their children, Makayla, Audrey, Christopher, Kaleb, Brandon, and Ashley, Amy Hart and her children, Michael (his daughter, Evelyn), Haley, and Allie; Tom Clarey (Bonnie) of Marion, IA and their children, Tommy Clarey and Beth Flansberg (Chuck) and their son, Tommy; Debbie Welch of Riverside, CA and her children, Tim Welch (Michelle) and their daughter, Phoebe, Mickey DeLeon (Angel) and their children, Lizzy and Christopher, and Tina Beigler (Louie); Marlene Quackenbush (Ted) of Lakewood, CA and their children, Teri Lancaster (Randy) and their children, Chloe, Jonathan, and Ruby, and Matt Quackenbush (Brandy) and their children, Ryan and Zachary; Michele Herzog (Steve) of Riverside, CA and their children, Jennifer Hammer (Norman) and their son, Liam, and Angela Walker (Travis) and their daughter, Anastasia, Wayne, Steve, and James (Leah); Margy Clarey (Dave Webb) of Dayton, OH, and their children, Jed (Lauren), Ashley, and Megan; Lori Gale of Akron and her children, Michael and his daughter, Evie, and Catie; and Angie Clarey (Shannon Wojahn) of Akron and her son, Ian; a brother: Toby Harvey (Tena) of Le Mars; a sister in law: Myrtle Harvey of Hawarden; and several other in laws, nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Thomas; five brothers: Don, Bill, John, Glen, and Kenny; and four sisters: Maxine Boetger, Lois Waterbury, Frances Rosenbaum, and Ellen Holtgrew; two sons in law: Tom Welch and Donald Gale; and two grandchildren in infancy, Teddy Quackenbush and Margie Wojhan.
