Read More	DURHAM, NC ~ Margie Smith Boyles, died November 9, 2015, in the care of the Hock Pavilion in Durham, NC. She was born in Surry County on May 26, 1924, to Etta Lambert and Charlie Lewis Smith. Marge lived most of her life in Pilot Mountain. She was a long time member of First Baptist Church, where she taught Sunday School for many years; was a poet, an artist, a homemaker, a seamstress, and a volunteer for many causes and functions. She worked for 10 years at High Point University as a Resident Councilor. She moved to Cambridge Hills Assisted Living in Roxboro, N.C., seven years ago and soon found she could continue to volunteer by knitting prayer shawls and other items for the churches of Pilot Mountain and Mountain Valley Hospice. She also began volunteering with Person County Needleworkers, Inc. Marge was predeceased by her parents, an infant daughter, and husband, H.H. Boyles. She is survived by one son, Lew and wife Barbara; two grandsons, Ryan and wife Abee, Alan and wife Suparna; and two great-grandchildren, Shannon and Cullen. A graveside memorial service will be held at the Pilot Mountain City Cemetery on Sunday, November 29th at 1 p.m.. Family and friends will gather in the Fellowship Hall of First Baptist Church after the service. The family wishes to thank the management and staff of Cambridge Hills Assisted Living for all they did for Marge during her stay. Also, special thanks for their compassionate care go to David Halpern, M.D. and Durham Primary Care, the staff of Durham Regional Hospital, and the Hock Pavilion. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to First Baptist Church of Pilot Mountain Building Fund, P.O. Box 818, Pilot Mountain, NC 27041, or your favorite charity.
