Description	:	Marilyn Joyce Morehead, the daughter of Peter E. and Gerda (Block) Nielsen, was born on July 28,1933 at Superior, Nebraska. She passed away on December 25, 2009 at Valley County Health System Hospital in Ord, Nebraska at the age of 76 years. Marilyn attended rural elementary schools and graduated from Superior High School in 1950. She attended Dana College and then taught in rural Superior schools for two years. Read More	Marilyn Joyce Morehead, the daughter of Peter E. and Gerda (Block) Nielsen, was born on July 28,1933 at Superior, Nebraska. She passed away on December 25, 2009 at Valley County Health System Hospital in Ord, Nebraska at the age of 76 years. Marilyn attended rural elementary schools and graduated from Superior High School in 1950. She attended Dana College and then taught in rural Superior schools for two years. She was united in marriage to Garold "Ed" Morehead on October 26, 1947, in a rural church near Superior, Nebraska. One son, Mark, was born to this union. She was employed for 6 years at the Farmers Union Creamery Company in Superior. The Bureau of Reclamation became her career and she retired in October of 1994 with 20 years of dedicated service. While employed with the Bureau of Relamation, she and her husband lived in numerous states, including Colorado, New Mexico, South Dakota and finally Nebraska. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Garold on February 9, 2009. Survivors of the immediate family include a son, Mark Morehead of Ord; and a sister, Phyllis Thayer of Republic, Kansas; grandson, Cody Morehead of Ord, and a host of niece, nephews, and friends. Graveside services will be held on Saturday, May 8, 2010 at 2:00 PM from the Salem Lutheran Cemetery in rural Superior, Nebraska with Pastor Scot McCluskey officiating. Inurnment is in the Salem Lutheran Cemetery, rural Superior, Nebraska. Memorials suggested to Ord Township Library or the donor's choice. Condolences may be sent to Megrue-Price Funeral Home, PO Box 282, Superior, NE 68978. Megrue-Price Funeral Home of Superior, Nebraska was in charge of the arrangements.
