Miars, 67, of 15422 Artesian Road, will be conducted at 3 p.m. Tuesday in the Schmalzriedt and Sons Funeral Home. Committal rites will follow at 11 a.m. Wednesday in Union Cemetery, Berrien Center. He died at 2 p.m. Saturday in Provident Hospital where he had been a patient six days. Dr. Miars, a retired dentist, was born Nov. 30, 1895, in Berrien Center. Survivors include the widow, Dorothy; a son, Deane, Dallas, Tex.; two brothers, H. Victor, Niles, and Roy, Berrien Center; two sisters, Mrs. William Stafford, Niles, and Mrs. S. A. Wills, Miami, Fla; and one grandson. He was a 33rd degree Mason, a member of the Scottish rite and Moslem Shrine of the Valley of Detroit, a past president of the Detroit Dental Society, and a member of the Little Indian River Hunting Club, Munising. Committal rites were arranged by the Kiger Funeral Home, Niles.
