Pierson, 83, Princeton, and formerly of Sullivan, died at 9:03 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 13, 2001, at Holiday Manor, Princeton. She was born July 6, 1917, in Sullivan County to William and Dove Turman Riggs. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Princeton. She was preceded in death by one sister, Gladys Stewart; and two brothers, Harold T. Riggs and Robert R. Riggs. Survivors include her husband, Joe Ed Pierson; three sons, David Pierson, Albuquerque, N.M., Pat Pierson, Rushville, Ill., and Paul Pierson, Sullivan; one daughter Janet Jones, Princeton; and 15 grandchildren. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 2 p.m. Friday at St. Mary's Church, Sullivan, with Father Bernie Etienne officiating. Burial will be in Center Ridge Cemetery, Sullivan. Friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday and before services Friday at Banks and Brust Funeral Home, Sullivan, with rosary service at 7 p.m.
