Jacobsen-Greenway Funeral Home of Wolbach is in charge of arrangements. Mrs. Klein was born January 27, 1912 on the family farm north of Wolbach to George and Minnie (Messner) Berney. She was preceded in death by her parents, husbands Jess Elliott and Albert Klein and three brothers, Marvel, Clyde and Floyd Berney. Survivors of the immediate family include one daughter, Darlene Whalen of St. Paul; three grandchildren, Sherrie Oakley of St. Paul, Diane Steenson and her husband John of Minden; and Larry Whalan of Springfield. Also surviving are nine great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren. Mrs. Klein attended rural country school until the eighth grade. She then attended Wolbach High School. Marjorie married Jess Elliott on March 21, 1929 in Wolbach. They lived in Fremont for eight years. To this union one daughter was born. They then moved to Reno, Nev. where Jess worked on the railroad. In 1944 they moved to Wolbach to help run McIntyre's Hardware. They later started farming. Marjorie helped on the farm, including irrigating and raising chickens. The couple farmed until 1966 when Jess died of a heart attack. Marjorie married Albert Klein on November 4, 1967 in Wolbach. They traveled frequently until his death in 1992. In 1995 Marjorie moved to St. Paul and resided at Parkside Plaza. She had a stroke in 2003. She then moved to Heritage Living center where she lived until her death. Marjorie enjoyed fishing, sewing and flowers. She took care of the roses that grew outside of Trinity Lutheran Church in Wolbach. She loved to be with her grandchildren. Her favorite saying was "I shall always live in my children and my children's children." She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church of Wolbach and one of the church circles. Memorials are suggested to the family's choice.
