Burial was in the Hillside Cemetery in Wolbach. Active casketbearers were Robert Nealon, Jr., Dan Nealon, Jeff Nealon, Terry Klein, LeRoy Studley and Duane Timmons. Honorary casketbearers were Ervin Klein, Andy Nelson, Clarence Allen, Harold Coe, William Grossart, Jr. Gene Jacobson and Steve Grossart. McIntyre-Jacobsen Funeral Home of Wolbach was in charge of arrangements. Albert D. Klein, son of Andrew and Freda Ricka Boeck Klein, was born April 17, 1910 on the family farm in Greeley County near Wolbach. He departed from this life on September 6, 1992 at Grand Island, Nebraska at the age of 80 years. He received his education in rural school and grew to manhood on the family farm. On December 30, 1931 he was united in marriage to Hattie Michael at Grand Island. The couple first made their home on the Klein farm northeast of Wolbach in the Star community. The couple then lived in McCook and Grand Island where Mr. Klein was employed in trucking. The couple then lived in Detroit, Michigan for several years where he was employed in the Chrysler assembly plant. In 1945, the couple returned to Wolbach where Mr. Klein and his brother, Herman operated the Klein Brothers Chrysler-Plymouth garage, car agency and meat locker. In March of 1965, Mrs. Klein passed away. In 1966 he sold the business and worked at the Ordance Plant in Grand Island and the Village of Wolbach. On November 3, 1967 he married Marjorie Berney Elliott at Wolbach. The couple made their home in Wolbach and traveled as Mr. Klein worked as a mechanic for a highline construction company which operated in Nebraska, Wyoming and the Utah areas. In 1977 he retired but for several years operated a lawn-mower repair business from his residence in Wolbach. He was a member and had served on the church council of Trinity Lutheran Church in Wolbach; served a number of years on the Wolbach town board, park board and was a longtime member of the Volunteer Fire Department and Ambulance Unite; and had worked on various other civic organizations. He is survived by his wife, Margorie of Wolbach, a daughter, Peggy (Mrs. Robert) Nealon of Wolbach; four grandchildren, five great-grandchildren; one brother, Herman of Wolbach; one sister Mrs. Minnie Glines of St. Paul, a step-daughter, Darlene Whalen of Wolbach; three step-grandchildren; nine step-great-gradchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife Hattie: two brothers, William and Edward; and four sisters, Rosena Allen, Emma Glines, Anna Slattery and Dora Lantz.
