Garner, of the Virginia Conference, Methodist Church, were held at Singleton's M. E. Church, Tuesday at 11 o'clock, with Rev. W. S. Deyerle, Presiding Elder of the Rappahannock District, Rev. F. W. England and Rev. O. M. Clarke in charge of the last sad rites. Mrs. Garner passed away in Baltimore, on Saturday morning, and the body was brought via West Point to Gloucester for interment. She had been a great sufferer for the greater part of her life. She was born in Middlesex county, and was before her marriage Miss Martha Lee Gayle. At the time of her marriage to Rev. E. F. Garner he was a Junior pastor of the Gloucester Circuit - and it was from here that they started out in fields of service, having served many of the very important charges in the Virginia Conference. She leaves two children - Mrs. P. W. Fogle, of Norfolk and E. F. Garner, Jr., of Baltimore; four grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. H. S. Bland, of King and Queen, and Mrs. F. B. Dutton, of Ware Neck; two brothers, W. S. Gayle, of Ohio, and E. B. Gayle, of Pennsylvania. The active pall bearers were J. B. Williams, R. B. White, J. H. Waddell, L. L. Thomas, J. S. Robins, and E. F. Thornton; honorary, J. H. Martin, M. V. Kerns, W. G. Vaughan, S. J. Brown, A. S. Vaughan and Guy Smith.
