Peterson of Hastings, and Charlie Reed, who has been his... Read More	Martin Elmer Francis was born Aug. 28, 1861, at Dupont, Indiana. He joined the Methodist church at the age of 16 years. He moved to Phelps county, near Holdrege, Nebr., where he made his home until called by death. Mr. Francis died Friday morning, Aug. 11, 1944, at the age of 82 years, 11 months and 13 days. His parents, two sisters and one brother preceded him in death. He leaves to mourn his death, two sisters, Mrs. Mary Peters, Fairmont and Mrs. G.W. Peterson of Hastings, and Charlie Reed, who has been his helper and friend in his farm work many years; also several nieces and nephews, and Mrs. Edgar Miller, a cousin. Funeral services were conducted at the Kritner Funeral Home in Fairmont, Sunday afternoon at 4:30 o'clock, Rev. L.A. Fishel officiating. Oliver Moul sang, with Mrs. A.A. Ashby at the piano. Pallbearers were Len Cantrell, Oliver Moul, Floyd Lott, Albert Lott, Charlie Plock and Edgar Miller. Interment was in the Fairmont cemetery in the family lot.
