Description	:	Mary Ellen Francis Peters, daughter of Joseph and Belona Francis, was born near Peoria, Illinois, February 26, 1874, and passed on from this life February 19, 1950, having attained seventy-five years, eleven months and 24 days. When four years old, she moved with her parents to Clyde, Kansas, later moving to Minden, Nebraska, when she was twelve years old. When four years old, she moved with her parents to Clyde, Kansas, later moving to Minden, Nebraska, when she was twelve years old. At eighteen she moved to Fairmont where she lived the rest of her life. On March 18, 1897 she was married to John L. Peters. To this union were born three children: Clarence, Raymond and Gertrude. Her joy in life was saddened by the loss of her son, Raymond, in April 1931, and the death of her husband in September, 1938. The rich satisfaction she found in her own family was increased by the love of her daughters-in-law, Ethel and Alice, and son-in-law, Albert, and especially by the love of granddaughter, Wynona, whom she loved and cared for from early childhood; also the love for her church and friendly neighbors. Two brothers and two sisters have preceded her in death. One sister, Mrs. G.A. Peterson of Fairmont, lives to remember those long years of rich living that she has invested in this community. In addition to this sister, Mrs. Peters leaves to cherish her memory her son, Clarence Peters of Kilgore, and her daughter, Mrs. Albert Lott of Fairmont; her three grandchildren, Wynona, Lois and Barbara; three great-grandchildren, many relatives and friends. Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon, February 22, in the Federated church, Rev. W.F. Payne, the pastor, officiating. Oliver Moul sang, accompanied by Mrs. E.C. Clark. Interment in the Fairmont cemetery. Pallbearers were Charles Francis, Frank Francis, Chester Thomas, Homer Lyons, Clifford Geyer and Ray Traum.
