Feld, son of Mr. and Mrs. Joe Feld, who lost his life Aug. 2 on the battlefields of France. Rev. Father L. Schenkelberg, celebrant of the mass, was assisted by the Rev. Father Arthur S. Poeckes, deacon; the Rev. Father Clement Flannery, sub-deacon, and the Rev. Father O. Koester, master of ceremonies. Father L. Schenkelberg, celebrant of the mass, was assisted by the Rev. Father Arthur S. Poeckes, deacon; the Rev. Father Clement Flannery, sub-deacon, and the Rev. Father O. Koester, master of ceremonies. The military part of the service was in charge of Maurice Dunn post No. 7, American Legion. T. J. Kerwin and Henry J. Franzwa were color bearers. Six men who served as honorary pallbearers, Francis Clark, Clarence Tigges, Lyle McPherson and Louis Hannasch of Carroll, Ernest Johnson of Sioux City, and Simon Koenig of Halbur, were followed by Al Boss, commander of the local legion post, and C. H. Clark, acting vice - commander, who folded the flag at the completion of the service. Taps were sounded by Howard Hodges, bugler. Relatives from a distance at the services included Mrs. William Tigges, Battle Creek, Mich.; Mrs. Anthony Feld, Omaha; Mr. and Mrs. Joe Feld, jr., and family, St. Louis, Mo., and Mr. and Mrs. Earnest Feld, Rockwell City. There were also many relatives and friends from the surrounding community. August 19, 1948 - The body of Pvt. Marvin Feld, who was killed in action in France August 2, 1944, is en route to the United States for reburial, according to a message received yesterday by the Sharp Funeral home here from Joe Feld of Kansas City, who was notified as Pvt. Feld's next of kin. The next notice received here will be three days before the body is sent from Kansas City to Carroll. Pvt. Feld, son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Joe Feld of Carroll, was 19 years old at the time of his death. An infantryman, he had been in the service about a year and overseas approximately six weeks.
