Tom Woodin officiating. Pall bearers were Dale Stroud, Leslie Has, Dayle Aker, Bryan Kacodvin, Frank Akers, Allen Akers. Flower bearers were Carroll Akers and Marie Lacox. The music was by Carolyn Harris accompanied by Mabel Dunn. Selections were “Prayer Perfect,” and “Be Still, My Soul.” Concluding services and interment in Methodist Grove Cemetery. Mary Alma Bowman, daughter of John and Amanda McMillin Laxox, was born in Nodaway Township, Adams County, Iowa in November 11, 1890 and died February 19, 1968 in the Rosary Hospital at the age of 77 years, 3 months, and 8 days. She was united n marriage to Hulbert Bowman October 3, 1929. The made their home in the Nodaway community where Hubert owned and operated an automobile repair shop for many years. Much of Mamie’s life was devoted to the field of teaching in which she spent many years teaching at the schoolhouse located in and around the Nodaway area. She also loved to study, a hobby with her, as well as teaching her pupils how to study. Some of those pupils were her own relatives. Preceding her in death were her Mother, Father, her husband, Hulbert in December 23, 1957, her brothers, William, Elver, Albert, Thomas, John, and Emory Lacox, her sisters, Myrtle and Nora Lacox. Those remaining to mourn her passing are a great number of nieces and nephews, two of the nieces who grew up in her home, 7 sisters-in-laws, l brother-in-law, and a host of other relatives and friends.
