Description	:	MARY ANN HEAD, the wife of John Head, deceased, was born in Marshall County, West Virginia, in 1824. In 1837, Mary Ann Roberts, (Head) with her parents, left Virginia and migrated to Iowa, locating in Danville Township. John Head, to whom she was married in 1841, was born in West Virginia in 1819. They have had eleven children, only one of whom is not living. Mrs. Head's family have been blessed with good health ; the son, who died, was severely injured by an accident. In 1837, Mary Ann Roberts, (Head) with her parents, left Virginia and migrated to Iowa, locating in Danville Township. John Head, to whom she was married in 1841, was born in West Virginia in 1819. Mrs. Head's parents and family were among the very first settlers in Danville Township. There were but three families within a mile of them when they first came. Mr. Head came to Iowa in 1839, and died in 1872, while alive, one of the leading men of the neighborhood ; his death was lamented by all who knew him.
