Callaway Howard Wellington Hanby ---------- OBITUARY Mrs. Maryann Hanby, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Edward Rogers, was born April 30, 1869 at Hazel Green, Wisc, and died Dec. 23, 1964 at the Turner Nursing Home in Armstrong at the age of 95 years, 8 months and 10 days. She was a patient at Dickinson County Memorial Hospital for nine months after suffering injuries in a fall. She had been residing at the nursing home eight months. Mrs. Hanby moved with her parents to Carroll, Iowa in 1875, where she lived until her marriage to W. W. Hanby, Feb. 28, 1890. The couple lived at Carroll, Lanesboro and Emmetsburg before moving to Spirit Lake in 1919. She was a member of the Methodist Church, Rebekah Lodge, Royal Neighbors, Rural Lights Club, West Okoboji Club and Past Grand Club. She was also active in the Methodist church circle. Survivors include: a son, Howard of Spirit Lake; a daughter, Mrs. Carrie Callaway of Isleton, Calif.; three grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; several great-great-grandchildren; a brother and a sister. Funeral services were held Monday, Dec. 28, at the Donovan-Leyson Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Trevor Baskerville of the Methodist Church officiating.
