Read More	MUHLENBURG, MARY CATHERINE—Mary Catherine Heath, second of seven children of James H. and Isabelle Heath, was born at Richmondale, O., in 1868. She passed away in the General hospital, Geneva, Neb., March 15, 1953, following a long illness, at the age of 84 years, 9 months and 1 day. She was 15 years of age when she moved with her parents, brothers and sisters to a farm near Geneva. She has made her home in this community since then. May 4, 1891, she was united in marriage to Charles H. Harbaugh. To this union was born one daughter, Edith, who preceded her in death. March 23, 1904, she was married to Henry Muhlenburg and they resided on a farm two miles west of Geneva until 1944, when they moved to town. Mr. Muhlenburg died May 20, 1949. Mrs. Muhlenburg was a devout worker in the Methodist church. She was also a member of Rebekah lodge and the Eastern Star. Mrs. Muhlenburg had long been interested in the girls training school at Geneva, having helped prepare the opening ceremonies for the institution many years ago and had been employed there for several years prior to her illness. She was "Aunt Mame" to all of the girls with whom she worked. During their years on the farm the Muhlenburgs provided a home for many boys, for whom farm life was both an education and an adventure. Two brothers and one sister preceded her in death. Survivors include a stepdaughter, Miss Jennie Muhlenburg of Geneva; a granddaughter, Miss Kathryn Adkisson of Washington, D. C., a grandson, Kenneth Adkisson, stationed in Japan; two sisters, Mrs. Essie Phillips of Denver and Mrs. Geneva Wiedman of Geneva; a brother, Ira Heath, also of Geneva; and sister-in-law, Mrs. G. A. Heath of Fairbury. She also leaves many nieces and nephews. Funeral services were held from the Hrubesky-Farmer funeral home Wednesday afternoon, March 18. Dr. F. E. Pfoutz, minister of the Methodist church, gave the tribute. Mrs. H. A. Rosenau sang, "Beautiful Isle of Somewhere" and "The Lord's Prayer," accompanied by Mrs. Ruth Ann Hrubesky. Pallbearers were Harold Heath, Arthur Heath, Alvan Heath, Harlan Heath, Thomas Ewalt and Walter Huston. Interment was in the Geneva cemetery. The Nebraska Signal 19 March 1953 page 7.
