Description	:	Mary E. Johnston was born in Ireland, March 2, 1837. Her parents came to America when she was about five years of age, and settled in Coshocton County, Ohio. Here she grew to womanhood, loved and respected by a large circle of friends. She was married to George W. Cullison November 29, 1859. She was the mother of eight children, five of whom with the farther are left to mourn the departure of this devoted wife, affectionate mother, and noble christian woman. Her parents came to America when she was about five years of age, and settled in Coshocton County, Ohio. Here she grew to womanhood, loved and respected by a large circle of friends. She was married to George W. Cullison November 29, 1859. She was the mother of eight children, five of whom with the farther are left to mourn the departure of this devoted wife, affectionate mother, and noble christian woman. She was possessed of a bright, cheerful disposition and it was a great pleasure to her to scatter sunshine and good cheer wherever she could. Few persons outside the circle of her own family, knew the great suffering she was often enduring, even when she was greeting her friends with smiles and making them welcome to the hospitality of her home. Her life was discreet, unselfish and affectionate. Imprudent, unkind, uncharitable words never fell from her lips. Her daily life was simple, plain, but transparent as crystal. She loved right, purity, honestly, godliness, in all, small and great, rich and poor. To her, the will of God so far as she was capable of knowing it, was the end of all questioning. She was taken sick during the night of July 17th. It came in such a form as to cause excruciating pain to the poor body, and to baffle all the skill of the best physicians. Of the five surviving children, two sons, Wheeler and Lewis of Macon, Illinois together with their wives, and the only daughter, Mrs. Ida Huff, of Coshocton, together with the two remaining sons, Alva and Earl, and her two brothers, John and William of Macon, Ill., and a sister, Mrs. Maggie Oxley of West Carlisle, were all with her during her brief illness. She united with the church in the early part of her married life. She died at her home near Mohawk Village, Ohio, July 29, 1902, aged 65 years, 4 months, 27 days.
