Funeral services were held Saturday afternoon at 2:30 from the First Congregational church, which she was instrumental in organizing 50 years ago. Interment was in Mountain View cemetery where her husband and parents lie. Mrs. Bailey was born at Walnut, Ill., Oct. 17, 1864, a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. L. Long. while she was still a small child the family moved to Independence, Mo., where she grew to womanhood and was married Oct. 31, 1886, to Joe W. Bailey. They came at once to the ranch home on Little Timber creek which he had established in 1812, the place now owned by Mrs. Effie Stole & Sons. Five years later they moved into Big Timber, Mr. Bailey being a partner in the Busha & Bailey Hardware Co. the firm later became the Montana Trading Co. When this organization dissolved, he took over the present A. W. Miles property, operating it as Bailey Implement Co. Following his death in May 1916, the Miles Co. purchased the business and later the building. the history of the progress of this community is closely woven about the efforts of both Mr. and Mrs. Bailey. She had made her home here 56 years except for two years spent in Eugene Oreg. they had two children, Saide R. and Floyd L. Bailey. Returning here from Oregon three years ago, Mrs. Bailey bought the Caulkins home on McLeod street, where she was cared for throughout her illness by her daughter. Besides the two children named she is survived by a sister Mrs. Kate Griffith of Columbus, the last of the seven Long children, and a number of nieces and nephews. Mrs. S. A.
