Mrs. Danburg had been ill for several days, and Saturday developed pneumonia. Complications of several years standing, however, were the cause of her death, which was entirely unexpected. Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon from the Presbyterian church, and were in charge of Rev. Joseph Andrews. “After Thought, “ by Percy Shelley, set to music by Russell Danburg as a tribute to his mother, was sung by Dean Williams of the Dakota Wesleyan School of Music. Burial was in the G. A. R. cemetery. Mrs. Deverne Danburg, formerly Mary Emma Nicholas, was born in Midland township, near Miller, February 22, 1887, and departed from this life to be with her Saviour, on Sunday morning, January 24, 1937, at the age of 49 years, 11 months and 2 days. Her early life was spent with her parents on the farm near Miller. On May 15, 1907, she was united in marriage to Deverne Danburg and since then, they have resided in miller. To this union were born four children, a daughter, who died in infancy. She leaves to mourn her loss her husband, three sons, Russell, Dwight, and Deverne Jr., four brothers, Percy and Raleigh Nicholas of Miller, Edward and Alfred Nicholas of Ree Heights and two sisters, Mrs. Geo. Viereck and Mrs. Laura McDowell, beside a host of other dear relatives and friends. Despite her ill health for a number of years, her courage and patience was an inspiration to her many friends. She united with the church of Christ I her girlhood and many precious and beautiful poems of her own writing testify to her faith and solace which she received from her Lord and Master. She will always be remembered as one who, regardless of her suffering, was always thinking of kindly deeds which she might do for the joy and pleasure of others. The following poem penned form her own hand exemplified the noble qualities of character for which she stood.
