After a long illness from paralysis Etta M. Birney died July 7 at the home of her daughter, Mrs. William Hahn of Malvern, aged 69, 11 months and 18 days. At the age of 13 years she united with Center Unity Presbyterian Church, remaining a member until death. She was married November 13, 1879, to Mr. Birney, who, with two daughters, is dead. Surviving her are the following children: Mrs. C. E. McConnell, Mrs. E. E. Glazner and Mrs. J. M. Kail, of Carrollton; Mrs. William Hahn and Daniel Birney of Malvern, and a brother, J. L. Mikesell of Jewett. Funeral services were held Friday at the home, Rev. B. J. Yorke officiating, and burial was made in Bethlehem Cemetery, Harrison County.
