Description	:	Funeral services for Mrs. Henry Carmichael were held Thursday, February 18, 1965 at 2:00 p.m. from the Wolfe Funeral Home at 2:00 p.m. from the Wolfe Funeral Home with Rev. George S. Snyder officiating. The music was by Mrs. Norma Carmichael in the following vocal selections, “Abide With Me,” and “The Old Rugged Cross.” Flower bearers were Mrs. Earl Scott and Mrs. Virgil Hayes. Casket bearers included William Gale Garey, Andy Chapman, Clyde Chapman, Claude Chapman, Bill Garey, and Bob Garey. Interment was in the Grant Cemetery. Mary Virginia Garey, daughter of Lewis E. and Cora B. Patterson Garey, was born near Grant, Iowa on December 8, 1888 and passed away at the Rosary Hospital in Corning, Iowa, after a lengthy illness, on February 15, 1965 at the age of 76 years. She grew to womanhood in the Grant community and then moved with her parents to Villisca. On June 4, 1913, she was united in marriage with Henry Carmichael at Villisca. Except for fifteen years, when they farmed in the Corning community, they have always resided in the Villsica area. In 1950, they moved to their present home at 101 Sixth Avenue, Villisca. In 1908, Mary united with the Christian Church at Morton Mills. She was preceded in death by her parents, and two brother, Urias and Donald. In addition to her husband, Henry, she is survived by two sisters, Mrs. Hattie Chapman, Massena, Iowa, and Mrs. Ruby Straight of Villisca; two brothers, Ray Garey of Nodaway, and Glenn Garey of West Des Moines, Iowa; besides nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
