Another of Plattsmouth's oldest citizens has answered the final summons, Mrs. Mary Mahoney being the latest. Her death occurred Monday afternoon at two o'clock, old age being the cause of her demise. Mrs. Mahoney was aged eighty-four years, and was born in County Cork, Ireland. She removed with her family to Plattsmouth in 1870, residing here continuously since that date. Her husband, Cornelius Mahoney, died in this city in 1876. The deceased was a lady of many estimable qualities and was respected by all. She is survived by nine children, as follows: Mrs. Kate Wales, of Plattsmouth; John of Barnston, Neb.; Michael, of El Paso, Tex.; Mrs. Nellie English, of Hastings, Neb.; Patrick H., of Havelock; Mrs. G. W. Tiemey, of Omaha; Cornelius, of El Paso, Tex.; James C., of Missouri Valley, Ia., and Thomas, of this city. The funeral occurred Wednesday morning at 9:30 from St. John's Catholic church, Rev. Father Carney officiating. A large number of sorrowing friends followed the remains to their last resting place in the Catholic cemetery.
