The bridesmaid was attired in a beautiful gown of yellow silk over net and carried a beautiful bouquet of yellow roses. Following the ceremony the bridal party and guests went to the home of the bride's parents where a four course dinner was served for relatives and friends. The bride is a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Kounkel (sic/Kunkel) and the groom is a son of Mr. and Mrs. Jos. Mayrose, both of Oyens. Mr. and Mrs. Albert Mayrose will make their home on a farm three miles south of here. MARYS CHURCH Mrs. Albert Mayrose died unexpectedly from a heart attack Monday evening at the Brentwood Nursing home at Le Mars where she had been a resident since the death of her husband over a year ago. Rosary will be held at St. Mary's hall Wednesday evening and the funeral will be Thursday morning, June 1 at 9:30 from St. Mary's church here. Mrs. Mayrose, the former Mathilda Kunkel, was born on March 24, 1895 at Le Mars and was married to Mr. Mayrose Jan. 15, 1918 at Oyens. Survivors include three daughters: Esther, Mrs. Bernard Pottebaum of Le Mars; Lorraine, Mrs. Donald Servoid of Sioux Falls; Kathleen, Mrs. Wm. Kautzky of Des Moines; and two sons, Lawrence and Cecil. * Le Mars Sentinel, Friday, June 2, 1961, p5 LIFE'S END Mrs. M. Mayrose -- Rites Held Thursday At Remsen Church Funeral services for Mrs. Mathilda C. Mayrose, 66, longtime resident of the Oyens and Alton vicinities, were held at 9:30 a.m. Thursday at St. Mary Catholic church, Alton. Rev. Zeno Reising officiated. Burial was in the parish cemetery at Alton under direction of the Fisch funeral home, Remsen. Mrs. Mayrose died Monday at the Brentwood nursing home here after a lingering illness. She had resided on a farm six miles south of Alton until the death of her husband in January 1960. Mathilda Kunkel was born March 24, 1894, in Le Mars. Her marriage to Albert Mayrose took place Jan. 15, 1918, at Oyens. She was a member of the Rosary Sodality and Catholic Daughters of America. Surviving are two sons, Lawrence and Cecil, both of Le Mars; three daughters, Mrs. Bernard Rottebaum of Le Mars, Mrs. Don Servold of Sioux Falls and Mrs. William Kauzthe of Des Moines; nine grandchildren; two brothers, Art and Felix Kunkel, both of Remsen; and five sisters, Mrs. Al Thill of Remsen, Mrs. Leon Donlin of Merrill, Mrs. Nick Kneip of Oyens, Mrs. Lawrence Neubel of Remsen and Mrs. Don Wernli in Oregon.
