Description	:	May Shippy was born May 6, 1907 in Andover, MO, the daughter of Samuel and Barbara Bierlein, and passed away in her home in Lamoni on May 8, 1968. She was baptized and confirmed June 26, 1921, into the RLDS Church. May lived with her parents in Lamoni, Iowa attending the school here. She graduated from the Westside high school on May 20, 1927 in good scholastic standing. She was also active in sports. She was a lifelong resident of this area and well known by most residents as a very kind and loyal friend. May was married to John... Read More	May Shippy was born May 6, 1907 in Andover, MO, the daughter of Samuel and Barbara Bierlein, and passed away in her home in Lamoni on May 8, 1968. She was baptized and confirmed June 26, 1921, into the RLDS Church. May lived with her parents in Lamoni, Iowa attending the school here. She graduated from the Westside high school on May 20, 1927 in good scholastic standing. She was also active in sports. She was a lifelong resident of this area and well known by most residents as a very kind and loyal friend. May was married to John F. Ross and to this union were born three sons; Lewis Wayne Ross, Blue Springs, MO, John Samuel Ross, Independence and Richard Lee Ross, Independence Mo. On Feb 4, 1948, she was married to Silas S. Shippy, who preceeded her in death. May is survived by her sons, Lewis, John and Richard; four grandsons, Douglas, Darwin, Duston and Ricky; four granddaughters, Trenna, Cheryl, Kim and Kari; three sisters, Leona Wallace of Lamoni Iowa and Mamie Stoddard and Helena Ista of Hulett, Wyo.; two brothers, Jake Bierlein of Davis Ciy, Mo. and Frank Bierlein of Kellerton, IA; one half brother, Lennie Bierlein Lamoni; a stepdaughter, Dorothy Oliver of Ukiah, CA; and a stepson Bond Shippy of Federal Way WA. She is also survived by several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. The funeral service was held May 11, 1968 at the Lamoni RLDS church with Elder Robert B. Hynden in charge, assisted by Reverend Gary Bird. Burial was in Rose Hill Cemetery at Lamoni.
