He is Merle F. Stanley, 49, whose death came at 11:30 p.m. Wednesday. Funeral services will be Saturday at 2 p.m. at the Round Prairie Baptist church south of Lockridge with the Rev. Calvin Huether in charge. Burial will be in Memorial Lawn cemetery. Merle F. Stanley was born December 20, 1899, in Henry county, the son of Charles A. and Cora Davidson Stanley. He had been a farmer all his life which was spent in Henry and Jefferson counties. He formerly lived on a farm near Hillsboro in Henry county and moved to his present home about nine years ago. Mr. Stanley was united in marriage on January 12, 1921, to Viola Moxley at Mt. Pleasant, who survives. He was a member of the Friends church at Salem. Besides his wife, Mr. Stanley is survived by six children: Clifford, Marvin and Leland, all at home; Charles and Dale Stanley, Fairfield; and Mrs. Loren McClellan, also of Fairfield. He is also survived by his father, Charles Stanley, Salem; three sisters, Mrs. Fred Hatch, Donnellson; Mrs. Boyd Brown, Salem; and Mrs. Charles Cook, Ypsilanti, Michigan; and a brother, Harold Stanley, Salem. Four grandchildren also survive. The body is at the Weston Behner funeral home.
