Description	:	Milborn Chapman was born in Putman county (sic), West Virginia, March 30, 1840. When four years of age he came to Iowa with his parent (sic). From there he went to Missouri, where at the age of twenty years he enlisted in Company K 6th Kansas cavalry and served for three years and eighteen days. After his discharge he returned to Iowa where he was united in marriage to Miss Emily Rausher November 1, 1866. To this union ten children were born. When four years of age he came to Iowa with his parent (sic). From there he went to Missouri, where at the age of twenty years he enlisted in Company K 6th Kansas cavalry and served for three years and eighteen days. After his discharge he returned to Iowa where he was united in marriage to Miss Emily Rausher November 1, 1866. To this union ten children were born. In the fall of 1873 they came to Nebraska where they have since resided. On June 15, 1905 his life work closed at the age of 65 years, 2 months, 16 days. There remain to mourn his loss a wife, four daughters and three sons, besides three sisters and one brother. Services were held at the house June 16 at 2 p.m. after which the body was placed in the Nelson cemetery (sic). A large company of friends and neighbors followed to the burial to pay the last tribute of respect to their old neighbor. May the Father bless and care for the family is the prayer of a friend. A.W.
