Description	:	Millard Wesley Ray, son of George W. and Emily Ray, was born four miles east of Nelson, Nebr., March 15, 1883, and departed this life August 13, 1955, at his home in Superior at the age of 72 years, four months and 28 days. In early life he united with the Methodist Church of Nelson and continued to hold his membership in the Methodist Churches of either Nelson, Nora or Superior until his death. In early life he united with the Methodist Church of Nelson and continued to hold his membership in the Methodist Churches of either Nelson, Nora or Superior until his death. On Febr. 23, 1905, he was united in marriage to Lurilla Mumma, who preceded him in death in 1935. To them five children were born: Mrs. Ruby Eilers of Nelson; Howard of Dayton, Oregon; Mrs. Alda Gerbeling of Nora; Mrs. Myra Braden of Vancouver, Wash.; and Byron of Beatrice. Mr. Ray continued to farm near Nora until 1943 when he moved to Superior where he worked for Mr. Dodd at his ice plant, then for the Ford Motor Company, and lately at Lloyd's Hatchery. On March 28, 1954, he married Mrs. Fern Wilcox of Bostwick. Early this year his health began to fail and he was more and more kept at home where he was tenderly cared for by his wife and children. He leaves to mourn his passing, in addition to his wife and children: two brothers, Ed of North Platte and Arthur of Nelson; one sister, Mrs. Ethel Jackson of Long Beach, Calif.; nine grandchildren, one great-grandchild, three step-children, nine step-grandchildre, three step-great-grandchildren, many nephews and nieces and a host of friends. Immediately following a short service in Superior at the Megrue funeral home, funeral services were held at 10 o'clock Monday morning in the Nelson Methodist church (sic). The Rev. Mr. L.R. Hansberry, a former Nora pastor, now of Trenton, officiated, assisted by the Rev, Mr. C.E. Caskey of the Reformed Presbyterian church (sic) of Superior. Burial was made in the Nelson cemetery (sic).
