He was preceded in death by his wife, Dora, one son who died in infancy, a daughter, Nola and four brothers. He leaves to mourn his passing, Mrs. Fay Beavers of Omaha, Mrs. Hazel Wheeland and Mrs. Doris Menke of Nelson; one sister, Ethel Jackson of Long Beach, Calif., six grandsons, three granddaughters, three great grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends. Most of Mr. Ray's life was spent in farming in this community. He retired in 1952 and moved to Nelson. He enjoyed outdoor life and visiting with his many friends and neighbors. He was a kind and loving father and grandfather, and will be deeply missed by all who knew him. Services were held at the Nelson Methodist Church, Wednesday, Sept. 18th with Rev. I.L. Belden officiating. Interment was in Nelson Cemetery. Out of town relatives and friends here to attend the funeral were: Mr. and Mrs. Loyal Beavers, Mr. and Mrs. Paul Beavers, and Mr. and Mrs. Valdean Beavers of Omaha; Mr. and Mrs. Leigh Fitzgerald of Hays Center; Mr. and Mrs. Leonard White, Mr. and Mrs. Lyle White and Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Ray of North Platte; and Mr. and Mrs. Frank Laird of Alhambra, Calif.
