Milton, son of George and Ethel (Smith) Myers, was born December 20, 1919, near Creighton, Nebraska. Milton grew up on the family farm northeast of Creighton, Nebraska where he attended Prairie Dale Country School. After completing his education, Milton stayed on the farm and continued to help his father. During World War II, Milton signed up for the Labor Force and worked as a guard at a storage depot in Sidney, Nebraska for approximately six months. Upon returning from Sidney, Nebraska he returned to farming on the family farm. On June 24, 1942, Milton was married to Lucille Clough at Creighton, Nebraska. The couple had first met while attending church. Milton and Lucille were blessed with five children: Byron, Marjorie, Lowell, Connie, and Phyllis. The couple farmed in the area where Milton had grown up northeast of Creighton in Cleveland Township, Nebraska and later, moved into Bazile Mills, Nebraska. For countless farmers around the area, they will remember Milton for the many years worked as a Veterinarian's Assistant for Dr. Dana T. McGill, Creighton, Nebraska. When not working, Milton enjoyed reading the Norfolk (NE.) Daily News, watching TV, listening to the news, and history. He enjoyed hunting for raccoons and deer, visiting with friends, but most of all, spending time with his family. Milton's wife, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren meant the world to him. He was a long-time member of the Creighton Bible Church, and instilled his faith, love, and devotion to his Savior, Jesus Christ, into his children. Milton was a kind, gentle, loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, who will be missed by all that knew and loved him. Milton's life and memory are forever cherished by his children, Byron (Linda) Myers of Norfolk, Nebraska, Lowell (Nan) Myers of Seward, Nebraska, Connie (Ralph) Schuler of Rapid City, South Dakota, and Phyllis (Cal) Michaelson of Lino Lakes, Minnesota; 13 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren; brothers, Gerald (Vida) Myers of Creighton, and Donald (Sue) Myers of Texas; sister, Ruth Bennett of Winnetoon, Nebraska and a host of family and friends. Milton was preceded in death by: wife of 70 years, Lucille Myers; daughter Marjorie; parents, George and Ethel Myers; siblings, Florence Myers, Dorothy Zila, Vera Strope, Genevieve Hall and Junior Myers; brothers-in-law, Clarence Hall, Bruce Bennett, Wendell Strope, and Clarence Zila. Burial was in Cedar Hill Cemetery rural Creighton, Nebraska.
