In August of 1945 Minnie met the love of her life Richard Neal Gleason in Plattsmouth, NE. Minnie and Richard were married on October 27, 1945, in Reading, PA. While Richard worked for Burlington Northern Railroad, they made their home in Pacific Junction, IA, Griswold, IA, and Des Moines, IA. During this time, Minnie had a Beauty Salon in their home in Griswold. In Des Moines, she had worked for Younkers, it was there that she retired. After retiring they lived in Glenwood, IA and Atlantic, IA. Minnie enjoyed golfing, playing cards, gardening, and spending time with her family and her beloved dog, Chang. Later, due to her failing health she lived at her daughter's residence in Bellevue, NE.
