On Sept. 19, 1880, she was united in marriage to Alfred Seymore Pitts, at Mattoon, Illinois. in 1885, they with Mr. and Mrs. Frank Hoober came to Kansas where the two families settled on adjacent farms where they lived through the years as close (neighbors.) There were born to this union three children: O.W. Pitts of Denver, Colo., Mrs. Frank Jordan of Glasco, and Mrs. Ethel Pitts Skeels who died in 1916. ... There remain to mourn her loss these seven grandchildren: Mrs. Henry Rensch of Denver, Mrs. M.L. Christensen, Hebron, Neb.; Mrs. Neta Burgess of Denver; Nile Jordan of Glasco; Sgt. Wilbur Pitts, El Paso, Texas; DeWayne Skeels, Concordia; Mrs. Gale Selby of Denver; also ten great grandchildren. After a short illness, Mrs. Pitts passed away at the St, Joseph hospital, Sunday, Feb. 7. Mrs. Pitts was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother, and will be missed by her family and a large circle of friends.
