Mrs. Everley passed away February 14. Mrs. Myrtie Pilcher Everley was born in Glasco, Kansas, July 14, 1880, the daughter of James F. and Helen Pilcher, the oldest of eight children of whom now three survive. Her full name was Myrtilla Ann Pilcher. At an early age she was married to Allen Everley, deceased, near Delphos, Kansas; to this union was born a son, Haven Orval, who died in infancy, later a daughter, Delma Marjorie, who survives. She has lived in Wichita over 50 years; a charter member of College Hill Methodist Church. She belonged to every type of work in the church. She organized the first young married ladies Sunday School class in the church, then called the "Anti Can't" class, now known as the Lydian class; her motto, "I shall pass through this world but once, any good therefore that I can do, or any kindness that I can show to any fellow being let me do it now; let me not defer or neglect it for I shall not pass this way again." She gave a lot of time and work to this class but after her health broke she was not as faithful in attendance as she had in the past, but her thoughts were always with them. She was a person with a strong, lovable personality, having an unusually close association with her daughter, which is rather rare. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her for having known her she left a lasting impression.
