Ford, a pioneer of this state and one of the first settlers of Lewis County, died at her home here Thursday evening, aged 92 years. She was born in Cambridge, NY, and came to Washington in 1845 with an ox team, settling on Ford's Prairie, adjoining this city. She has resided in Lewis County during all this time. Three daughters and three sons survive her. Mrs. Ford was highly respected by a wide circle of friends all over the state." Mrs. Ford was 92 years of age and was one of the early settlers of Lewis County. The deceased was born in Cambridge, Washington County, New York in 1806 and was married to Mr. Sydney Ford in 1823. They came to Washington in 1845 and settled on what is now Ford's Prairie, west of this city. Judge Sydney Ford died at the old homestead on Ford's Prairie in 1866. He was one of the early justices of the peace in Lewis County. The deceased leaves three daughters and three sons. Mrs. John Shelton, Mrs. Ticknor, Mrs. Williams, Sydney Ford, and Sunny Ford. There was a large attendance at the funeral which was held from the Christian Church on Sunday at 11 a.m." Source: Chehalis Bee, October 21, 1898
