Mrs. Naomi Hanna, 79, passed away at 10:30 A. M., Monday, April 24, at Defiance hospital where she had been taken after breaking a hip from a fall in her home on Easter night, high blood pressure and complications preventing her recovery. Mrs. Naomi Hanna, 79, passed away at 10:30 A. M., Monday, April 24, at Defiance hospital where she had been taken after breaking a hip from a fall in her home on Easter night, high blood pressure and complications preventing her recovery. She was a daughter of John and Catherine Keller Erlston, and lived in the township all her life except a short time the family was in Angola, Ind., years ago. She was married April 16, 1876, to Samuel Jasper Hanna, a son of the old pioneer Nathaniel Hanna, and they had eight children, two of whom preceded her, Sadie (Mrs. Willis Rollins), Nov. 21, 1924, aged 40, and Elgie, Jan. 24, 1914, aged 24. Mr. Hanna preceded her May 22, 1919, aged 65. Surviving are John Elmer of Sherwood, Samuel Elias and Mary and Merle (who stayed with her), of Ney, Wesley of LaSalle, Monroe county, Mich., and Lester of Erie Genessee county, Mich., twins, 17 grandchildren, a great-grandchild, a sister at Williams Center, Mrs. Thomas Fisher (Margaret), three brothers, Melvin and James of Washington township, and Hampden at the country home, and many other relatives and friends. A sister Uretta (Mrs. Silas Welker) and a brother William preceded her. Mrs. Hanna was a kind mother and good neighbor. The funeral services were conducted by the Church of God pastor, Rev. John H. Tippie, at Ney Bethel, Wednesday afternoon, with internment at Ney. The pallbearers were G. Lanz, C. P. and W. A. Mack, Ora Marsh, Jack Small, George Weber. Mesd. Arl Garver and Ernest Jesse sang, with Mrs. R. V. Speiser at the piano. Relatives were present from various points. Grandchildren were flower bearers. from Jim Motter
