BARR Neil Barr, who resides south of Griswold in Pleasant Township and on the county line, passed away Saturday at the Clarkson Hospital in Omaha. Mr. Barr had been a patient there for abut 15 days and his death was attributed to heart ailment. Neil Everett Barr was born on November 12, 1909 in Montgomery County, being the son of Carl and Laura Given Barr. At his passing he had reached the age of 60 years, 1 month, and 21 days. Mr. Barr had lived his entire life-time in the Elliott and Griswold communities and was a farmer. He was united in marriage t Mattie England on February 28, 1933 at Omaha, Nebraska. Mr. Barr was a member of the United Methodist Church at Elliott. Left to mourn his passing are his widow; one daughter, Mrs. Dean (Ilene) Mardesen of Elliott and two grandsons, Ronnie and Donnie Mardesen. Also surviving are three brothers, Clyde Barr of Scranton, Floyd Barr of Villisca, and Roy Barr of Red Oak, and a sister, Mrs. Berniece Guffey of Nodaway. Funeral services were held Monday afternoon from the United Methodist Church in Elliott. The pastor, Rev. Walter Fleaner, officiated. The music was by Joel Potting, soloist, accompanied by Mrs. Thelma Justice. The casket bearers were Ed Redding, Arnold Johnson, Amos Meeks, John Shellberg, Don Gammell, and Earl Casey. In charge of the floral offerings were Mr. and Mrs. Robert Kennedy and Mr and Mrs. Ellis Reed. Interment was made in the Pleasant Township Cemetery, south of Griswold.
