The Daily Courier (San Bernardino, CA.), P. 3, Col. 2 Thu., Jan. 17, 1889 Dodson-Wixom Last night at 6:45 o’clock the marriage of Mr. Booth Dodson and Miss Nellie Wixom took place at the Presbyterian church in the presence of a large number of invited guests and was one of the most pleasing ceremonies that has ever been performed in San Bernardino, as the bride and groom are very popular young people of this city. At 6:45 promptly, the ushers, Harry Kane and Charles Mills, entered the right-hand entrance and marched to the front of the church to the strain of Mendelsohn’s wedding march by Prof. Skinner. They were followed by Misses Laura Wixom and Pearl Hall, bridesmaids and E. H. Showers and W. H. Hale, groomsmen, after whom came the bride and groom. Rev. Mr. Morrison, in his usual impressive manner, performed the service, after which a very touching prayer was given and the wedding party wended its way to the residence of Mr. and Mrs. Charles mecum, where the wedding supper was served. The bride looked beautiful in a neat traveling costume of brown silk and her lovely face reflected the happiness in her heart as she plighted her troth to the noble man by her side, while the groom looked proud and happy as if he realized the treasure he was receiving. Both bride and groom are well-known in San Bernardino, the former being a native of this city and known alike for her beauty of face and supposition and numbers among her friends a large circle, who watched with interest the wedding ceremony. The groom is a well-known business man - young, energetic and persevering. By his business accomplishments he is establishing himself, and will become one of San Bernardino’s substantial citizens. Ever since the organization of the Seventh Regimental band, he has been an active member, and his comrades handsomely remembered him last night. The young couple took the 6 o’clock train for Los Angeles, where they will visit for a few days, after which they will return here and go to housekeeping in their elegant new residence on Base Line. Dodson; an antique bedroom set from the Seventh Regimental band’; a gold-headed cane and silk umbrella from John Suzzalo; a silver tea set from Miss Anna Van Slyck, A. S. Kier and E. H. Showers; a sewing machine from Mr. and Mrs. Chas. Mecham; a china set from Mr. and Mrs. J. A. McPherson and an insurance policy on entire household goods from F. T. Greer. Santa Ana Register (Santa Ana, CA.), P. 9, Col. 2 Thu., Apr. 4, 1940 Mrs. N. I. DODSON DIES IN EL MONTE Mrs. Nellie I. Dodson, 71, a former resident of Santa Ana, died at El Monte Tuesday following an illness of a month. Funeral services will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. at the Woodhouse mortuary in San Bernardino. Mrs. Dodson was the mother of Mrs. W. G. Papenkopp, of 505 East Bishop street. She lived here for five years before moving to El Monte to reside. She was born in San Bernardino. Survivors are the daughter, Mrs. Pagenkopp, and one son, B. Colliver Dodson, of El Monte, and four grandchildren, Margaret and Robert Dodson, and Ralph and Welton Pagenkopp. NELLIE DODSON Funeral services for Mrs. Nellie Dodson will be held at 2p.m. today from J. W. Woodhouse Mortuary, with burial to follow in City cemetery.
