She departed this life late Wednesday afternoon, March 5, 1997 at the Nicol Home in Glasco. She was 80 years of age. A lifetime resident of the Glasco community, Maxine, as she was known, graduated from High School in the Class of 1934. On May 30, 1938, Maxine was united in marriage to Emery William Yenni at Leavenworth, Kansas. Four children Barbara, Jeanne, JoAnne a d Jon were born to this union. After many years of farm life, Maxine and her husband retired and made their home in Glasco. Maxine was a member of First United Methodist Church of Glasco and the Order of the Eastern Star. She was preceded in death by her parents, one son Jon Yenni in 1971, and her husband Emery Yenni in 1992. Survivors are her daughters, Barbara Ernsbarger of Glasco, Jeanne Yenni of Lawrence, J. Anne Rice and her husband David of Glasco, one daughter-in-law Nancy Yenni-Briggs of Parsons; one sister-in-law Mildred Cool of Glasco, nine grandchildren Max and Mark Ernsbarger of Glasco; Diane Hofflinger of Glen Elder, Christina O'Harra of Parsons; Erica Yenni of Bellvue, WA; L.J. Yenni of San Diego, CA; Catlin Crick of Salina, Joe Crick of Norfolk, VA; Justin Rice of Manhattan, six great grandchildren, Ashley, Megan and Lucas Ernsbarger of Glasco, Joshua and Laura Anne Hofflinger of Glen Elder, Abigail Yenni of San Diego, and many friends. Funeral services were at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, march 8, 1997 at the Dean Funeral Home in Glasco, Kansas. The Reverend Kelly Sipes was officiant. Organist was Irma Ethridge. Casket bearers were Joe Crick, Mark Ernsbarger, Max Ernsbarger, Loren Hofflinger, Justin Rice and L.J. Yenni. Interment was in the Glasco Cemetery.
