Funeral services will be held 10:00 Saturday morning, March 8, 2003 at the Wayne Zion Lutheran Church, Monticello with burial in the Oakwood Cemetery. Rev. Eugene Schipper will officiate at the services. Friends may call from 4 until 8 Friday at the Goettsch Funeral Home where Masonic Services will be held at 8:00 PM. Olaf is survived by his wife, Augusta, a daughter, Arlene (Donald) Busch, Palos Heights, Illinois, 3 grandchildren, Debbie (Dan) Walsh, Donald (Beth) Busch, Jacqueline (Bob) Jensen, all of Chicago, 7 great-Grandchildren, Michael, Peter, Joseph, Nicole, Heather, Kimberly, Mark and 3 nephews in Norway, Lars, Burin, Torfin. He was preceded in death by his Parents, first wife, Adalaide, a son Gordon, a sister, Karen, and 2 brothers, Hans and Leif. Olaf Christensen was born, August 24, 1908 in Solberg, Norway. He was the son of Olaf and Amelia Christensen. Olaf signed on to a Norwegian Cargo Ship at age 16 that transported cars between New York and Argentina. He later settled in Chicago, where he married Adalaide Wangsness on April 16, 1938. Olaf was a tool and die maker and machinist for many different companies. In more recent years he worked for Klauers in Dubuque and for Franklin Equipment in Monticello. Olaf was a member of the Wayne Zion Lutheran Church, the Masonic Lodge, and the Medinah Shrine.
