Gifford died this morning, July 16, 1943, at Skiff Memorial Hospital in Newton following an illness of the past several months due to a malignant disease. Mrs. Gifford who would have observed her 70th birthday Sunday, July 18, was admitted to the hospital Thursday. Funeral services will be held Sunday afternoon at the Killduff Methodist Church with the Rev. W. J. Fowler, a former pastor of the church officiating. Interment will be in the Hewitt Cemetery.... Ollie Landmesser was born near Killduff, July 18, 1873, one of two children of Harriett and Henry Landmesser, and had spent her entire life in the Killduff vicinity. She was united in marriage on Jan. 22, 1896 to Riley J. Gifford. The couple went to housekeeping on a farm west of Killduff and continued farming until 1920. In addition to her husband, she is survived by 4 sons, Henry of Murphy, Raymond of Newton, Walter of Grinnell and Arthur of Kellogg; 9 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren, and a brother, Frank Landmesser of Killduff.
