Otha Clifford Duvall, son of Walter Purl and Eva Rathburn Duvall, was born Oct. 7, 1903, and died at his home, Jan. 12, 1979, at the age of 75 years, 3 months and 5 days. He spent his entire life in Cloud County. he was a farmer until ill health caused him to move to his home in Glasco. He served on township board and Fairview School Board. He was married to Oral Heaverlo at Concordia, Kans., Aug. 18, 1926. They celebrated their 50th anniversary Aug. 18, 1976. He was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Glasco. No children were born of this union, but they raised a nephew, at the death of his mother, at the age of two weeks. They loved and cherished (him) as their own child. Otha was preceded in death by his father, mother, a brother, Melvin, and a sister, Frieda Pilcher. He is survived by his wife, Oral, of the home; his son, Norris Pilcher and wife Clarine; one sister, Nellie Buckland, Concordia; one brother, Lester Duvall, Concordia; four grandsons, David, Jerry, and Bruce Pilcher of Salina and Alan Pilcher and wife, Delila, Topeka; two granddaughters, Ronda and Terri Pilcher, Salina; aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and a host of friends. Interment was in the Glasco Cemetery. Pallbearers were Oscar Amspacker, Lowell Crum, Norman Mosburg, Emil Liedtke, Michael Driscoll and Mickey Driscoll. Organist was Mrs. Wendell Berggren and singer was William Martin. Memorials may be made to St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Glasco.
