She died Dec. 2, 1961, at Redfield, S.D. Burial was in the Ida Grove Cemetery, Ida County, Iowa. Surviving her were 6 sisters and two brothers. "Mamie" and Otto were married Feb. 6, 1907, at the home of Albert Putzier where Judge S. K. Pettit tied the knot that joined their lives. He spent practically all his life in the Ida Grove area, except he went to Ireton, Iowa, in the fall of 1918 to take charge of the Meents & Johnston light plant there. He died there during the flu epidemic, Feb. 7, 1920, and they had no children. Mr. Brockman is survived by his wife, his parents, and several brothers and sisters, Mrs. A. C. Johnston of Ida Grove, Iowa; Mrs. Albert Putzier of Twin Falls, Idaho; Wm. Brockman of Ida Grove. The parents and Mrs. Johnston were in California and were unable to come to the funeral.
