Rev. Monsignor P. T. Lynch offering the requiem mass. Burial was in SS. Peter and Paul's cemetery, and pallbearers were: M. L. Collison, E. A. Out-of-town relatives at tge services included: Mrs. Nick Schnetter, Mrs. Dave Dady and family, Mrs. Jack George and Mr. and Mrs. Frank Barish, all of Pocahantas; Sgt. and Mrs. Edgar Polking, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Polking and Mr. and Mrs. Tony Pick, of Breda. Mr. Daiker, 81, had lived in Carroll county since he was five years old. Born Sept. 25, 1863, at Freeport, Ill., he came to this community with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. John Daiker, who settled on a farm abut three and one-half miles north of Carroll. Mr. Daiker remained on the old homestead until his marriage to Mary Aigner of Pocahontas in 1914. He and Mrs. Daiker then resided there until 1923, when they moved into Carroll. Besides his wife, Mr. Daiker leaves two daughters and two sons: Mrs. Edgar Polking Agnes), Breda; Mrs. Elmer Snook (Theresa), Carroll; and Frank and Walter at home. He is also survived by five grandchildren; one brother, John Daiker and one sister, Mrs. John Gaecke (Emma), both of Carroll. He is preceded in death by one sister, Miss Grace Daiker, and two brothers, George and Fred. Mr. Daiker was a member of St. Joseph's church and the Holy Name Society of the parish. -------------------------------------- Peter married Mary Rita Bartosh Aigner on February 10, 1913. She was the daughter of Joseph and Mary Marhoun Bartosh and the widow of Anton Aigner.
