Description	:	MILLER, Phyllis Joan, RN — It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Phyllis Joan (Abbott) Miller, 83 years old, of Granville Ferry, in Annapolis Community Health Centre on October 2, 2009. Born in Bay View, Digby Co., she was a daughter of the late Wallace and Elizabeth (Comeau) Abbott. She was a graduate of Saint Martha's School of Nursing, Antigonish. Read More	MILLER, Phyllis Joan, RN — It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Phyllis Joan (Abbott) Miller, 83 years old, of Granville Ferry, in Annapolis Community Health Centre on October 2, 2009. Born in Bay View, Digby Co., she was a daughter of the late Wallace and Elizabeth (Comeau) Abbott. She was a graduate of Saint Martha's School of Nursing, Antigonish. Phyllis worked in her early years in the United States and Canada before settling in Annapolis Royal where she spent 36 years nursing at the Annapolis General Hospital. Phyllis loved baking, music, birds and nature and took great pride in her flower gardens. Phyllis was a kind, patient, loving wife, mother and grandmother. Her family always came first. Phyllis was predeceased by her husband, John "Jack" Miller; daughter, Laura; sisters, Mary, Louise and Helena. She is survived by sisters, Georgina Despeau, Ontario; and brothers, Ronald, Ontario and Richard (Ruby), Dartmouth. Phyllis is also survived by daughters, Anne (Gary) Weir, Granville Ferry; Valerie (Julian) Lomanski, Surrey, B.C.; Jackie (Gary) Ross, Fall River and son, John (Anne), Herring Cove; cherished grandchildren, Dennis Weir, Bridgetown; Adam Weir, Granville Ferry, Kelly (Adam) Gillis, Moschelle; Michael and Jennifer Lomanski, Surrey, B.C.; Sarah Wilkie, Calgary; Gregory Wilkie, Halifax; Jeremy, Chad and Connor Miller, Herring Cove; Ian Ross, Whistler, B.C. and Colin Ross, Halifax and her only great-granddaughter, Cheyenne Gillis, Moschelle; numerous nieces and nephews across Canada. There will be no visitation by Phyllis's request. A memorial service will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday, October 6, from Kaulbach Family Funeral Home, Annapolis Royal with Canon Kenneth Vaughan officiating. Private interment will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery, Annapolis Royal.
