JEFFERSON COUNTY WOMAN DIES IN MISSOURI Fairfield, July 18. - Mrs. Priscilla Mendenhall, a well known former resident of Fairfield and Batavia, passed away Saturday afternoon (sic. calculated to be July 15, 1916) at her home in West Plains, Mo., at the age of 74 years. Mrs. Mendenhall had been in ill health for over a year and her death was not unexpected. Her husband, James Mendenhall of West Plains, and two children, Thos. of Kansas City and Mrs. Charles Phillips of Ottumwa, Ia., survive. The remains arrived in Fairfield at 5 o'clock Tuesday evening on the Rock Island railroad and were taken at once to Evergreen cemetery where Rev. A. R. Toothacre conducted a short service. Mrs. Mendenhall has a sister, Mrs. S. C. Cowen, living in Fairfield and there are many friends who will regret her death.
