Medium height & build, blue eyes & light hair. 31 December 1918, Audubon Advocate: "Pvt. Frank E. Blohm and Pvt. Emmert E. Anthes, two more of the boys who were in training at Camp Pike, Ark., arrived home last Saturday afternoon from Camp Dodge, Ia. Both have received their honorable discharge and are home to stay, being gladly welcomed by their parents and other relatives and friends. The two homes, that of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Blohm and Mr. and Mrs. J.W. Anthes, have been saddened recently by the news which they received from France concerning their loved ones and so it is with joy and sorrow they welcome their other sons home again." OBITUARY Frank Blohm, son of Joseph and Fredericka Blohm, was born June 3, 1894, in Sharon Township, Audubon County. He died March 5, 1968 at the Guthrie County hospital. He was baptized in the Lutheran church in his youth. Frank married Ruth L. Twist on June 30,1920. They had three sons, Dale Woodburn Blohm, Dalton E. Blohm (stillborn, 6 Nov 1931), and Franklin Dean Blohm. The couple farmed for a number of years, then moved to Audubon. later they moved to Guthrie Center where he operated a grocery store for 14 years. He served in the U.S. Army in World War I and was a member of the American Legion. He is survived by his wife, two sons, Dale W., Guthrie Center, and Franklin D., Richmond, Calif.; two grandchildren, Sandra Blohm, Guthrie Center, and Denise, Richmond; three step grandchildren, Karla Wood Kallesen, Barbara Wood Jensen, and Jeffrey Woods, all of California; seven step-great-grandchildren, Marcia and Debbie Kallesen Lorrie, Kristi, Eric, and Scott Jensen and Kelly Wood; two sisters, Minnie Collins, Omaha, and Mable Blohm, Audubon; one brother, Fred, Omaha. He was preceded in death by an infant son; his parents; three brothers, Louis, Henry and Charles; and two sisters, Martha and Ella. Funeral services were at the Christian church, Guthrie Center, March 7, 1968, with the Rev. Lester W. Pearson officiating. Internment was in the Maple Grove Cemetery, Audubon."
