Description	:	RANDY JAMES DREISKE was born October 19, 1948 at Lemmon, SD to Gordon and Helen (Haynes) Dreiske. He was the third of four boys and grew up on the family farm south of Keldron, SD. He attended Riverside Country School, Lemmon High School, and the National School of Business in Rapid City. On August 18, 1969, Randy was united in marriage to Shirley Lindquist at Morristown. Read More	RANDY JAMES DREISKE was born October 19, 1948 at Lemmon, SD to Gordon and Helen (Haynes) Dreiske. He was the third of four boys and grew up on the family farm south of Keldron, SD. He attended Riverside Country School, Lemmon High School, and the National School of Business in Rapid City. On August 18, 1969, Randy was united in marriage to Shirley Lindquist at Morristown. Three children were born to this union. In March 20, 1969, Randy was inducted into the US Army at McIntosh and spent the next two years in the service, eighteen months of that time was in Germany. He was discharged on March 12, 1971 at Ft. Dix, NJ. Randy then returned to the family ranch for one year then began working at the Thunder Hawk Coop. Randy and his family moved to Lemmon in 1989 where he worked for Ellison Well Drilling for one year. In July of 1989, he did maintenance work for Five Counties Hospital and also operated The Consignment Shop on Lemmon's main street from February 1997 to June 2003. In August 2005, he began working for Northwest Farm and Home Supply. He was diagnosed with cancer on July 10, 2005 and has been battling it since. He passed from this life on Friday, September 29, at the West River Regional Medical Center in Hettinger at the age of 57 years, 11 months, 10 days. Randy was in FFA, Legion baseball, and 4-H as a child and young adult. Randy loved to hunt, fish, camp, and help his children with their 4-H animals. Some of his favorite pass times were playing cards, assembling jigsaw puzzles, and attending auction sales. He had a collection of John Deere tractors along with a number assortment of cars, pickups, and horses. Randy was very proud of the new home that he and his family built in 2002. Randy is survived by his wife Shirley, daughter Malissa (Casey) Olson; sons Brian (Lisa) Dreiske; Larry (Sarah) Dreiske; grandchildren, Lanie, Taz, Bryce, and Trig Olson; and Logan Dreiske; 3 brothers, Tom, Keldron; John, Green Acres, WA; Don, Belle Fourche; 1 brother-in-law, Duane (Helen) Lindquist; 4 sisters-in-law, Beverly (Marvin) Bail; Audrey (Gary) Kirkpatrick; Sylvia Engle; Kippy Lindquist; and numerous nieces and nephews. Randy was preceded in death by his parents, 1 infant daughter, 2 infant grandsons, 3 brothers-in-law, and 1 sister-in-law. Funeral service for Randy J. Dreiske, age 57 of Lemmon, at Calvary Lutheran Church in Lemmon with Pastor Ken Miller, officiating. The burial will be Greenhill Cemetery with full military honors afforded by the Smith-Lyman American Legion Post #279 of Thunder Hawk. A memorial has been established to Cancer Research of America.
