Description	:	Ray Junior Courtney, 76, of Luray, departed this life to join our Heavenly Father on Aug. 30, 2010, at the University of Virginia Medical Center in Charlottesville. Mr. Courtney was born June 30, 1934, in Stanley, and was a son of the late William Ray Courtney and Beulah Clara (Jenkins) Courtney. He was a textile worker at Blue Bell for 20 years, worked at Virginia Oak Tannery for 26 years, did lawn maintenance for over 45 years and was church custodian at Luray United Methodist Church for over 30 years. Read More	Ray Junior Courtney, 76, of Luray, departed this life to join our Heavenly Father on Aug. 30, 2010, at the University of Virginia Medical Center in Charlottesville. Mr. Courtney was born June 30, 1934, in Stanley, and was a son of the late William Ray Courtney and Beulah Clara (Jenkins) Courtney. He was a textile worker at Blue Bell for 20 years, worked at Virginia Oak Tannery for 26 years, did lawn maintenance for over 45 years and was church custodian at Luray United Methodist Church for over 30 years. He was a member of St. Mark Lutheran Church. On Dec. 31, 1953, he married Blanche Marie Printz, who survives. In addition to his wife, survivors include four brothers, Edward Courtney of Luray, Archie Courtney and Forest Courtney, both of Stanley and Roy Courtney of Front Royal; a son, Ricky C. Courtney of Luray; a daughter, Lisa C. Diaz and husband, Fabian Rene "D" Diaz of Bridgewater; granddaughters, Brandy Raye Rickard and husband, Jamie Rickard of Stanley, Sherri Diane Wilson and husband, Adrian Wilson of Harrisonburg and Lanae Diaz Wenger and husband, Joe Wenger, of Harrisonburg; and great-grandchildren, Cassie Nichole Hutton of Stanley and Ayden Drake Diaz and Lillith Bell Wenger of Harrisonburg. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Agnes Lorraine Rinica and Helen Louderback. The Rev. R. Nicholas Eichelberger will conduct the funeral 11 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 2, 2010, at St. Mark Lutheran Church. Burial will be at Evergreen Memorial Gardens in Luray. Visitation will be from 7 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 1, at Bradley Funeral Home in Luray. Burial will be at Evergreen Memorial Gardens in Luray.
