Description	:	Ray Olden Larkins, son of Daniel and Mary Larkins, was born Nov. 11, 1890, in Republic County, Kansas. His parents moved to a farm 3 1/2 miles southwest of Chester when he was a small child. He received most of his education at the Prairie Flower School. After his father passed away in 1945, he moved to his own home where... Read More	Ray Olden Larkins, son of Daniel and Mary Larkins, was born Nov. 11, 1890, in Republic County, Kansas. His parents moved to a farm 3 1/2 miles southwest of Chester when he was a small child. He received most of his education at the Prairie Flower School. In 1906 he moved with his parents to a farm 4 1/2 miles northwest of Chester. His entire life was spent in the vicinity of Chester. He and his father moved to Chester in 1940. After his father passed away in 1945, he moved to his own home where he continued to live until failing health made it necessary for him to leave his home to reside with his sister until Nov. 9, 1964, when he entered the Blue Valley Lutheran Home where he passed away June 3, 1967, at the age of 76 years, 6 months and 26 days. He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, Earl, and one sister, Mrs. Edith Rieke. He is survived by one brother, Lloyd Larkins, and one sister, Mrs. Zelda Mosier, two brothers-in-law, one sister-in-law, seven nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends. Funeral services were held Tuesday, June 6, from the Chester Christian Church, the Rev. Gerald Beckenhauer, officiating. Singers were Mrs. Wilbert Crouse and Mrs. John Crouse, accompanied by Mrs. Ray Truss, organist. Pallbearers were Frank Larkins, Clifford Davidson, Mar Larkins, Oscar Ireland, Arthur Rossmiller and David Mathiesen. Interment was in the Chester cemetery (sic), Bachelor-Faulkner-Dart Funeral Service in charge of arrangements.
